If you want to experience classical music in one of the most beautiful historical settings in Bavaria, you cannot miss the Baroque Concerts at Schloss Schleißheim. From May to September 2026, the Great Hall of the New Palace transforms into a concert hall of breathtaking beauty – with acoustics that will amaze even the most seasoned classical music lovers. As a hotel located directly at the Schlosspark Schleißheim, we would like to introduce you to this extraordinary concert series and provide all the important information you need to make your evening at the palace unforgettable.
The concert series at Schloss Schleißheim offers a carefully curated selection of Baroque and Early Classical music from May to September 2026, set in a unique historical backdrop. The main venue is the Great Hall in the New Palace Schleißheim – magnificently decorated with gilded stucco elements and home to one of the most significant ceiling fresco cycles in Bavaria. The hall itself is an experience, even before the first note is played.
The Baroque concerts attract culture tourists, couples, music enthusiasts, and city travelers alike. Anyone who has once listened to a concert in the Great Hall understands immediately why these events sell out quickly every year. The exclusive setting – a maximum of 432 visitors per evening – ensures an atmosphere that concert halls in the big city rarely offer.
A special highlight of the season are the Arcade Concerts in July and August. In good weather, the concerts move into the Baroque garden grounds surrounding the palace – music under the open sky, framed by symmetrical hedges, water features, and the evening light over the palace park. This open-air format is one of the most romantic ways to experience classical music in Bavaria. Tip: For the Arcade Concerts, we recommend light clothing and perhaps a thin jacket for the cooling evenings.
The program of the Schleißheim Palace Concerts focuses on the great composers of the Baroque and Early Classical periods: Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Telemann, and Mozart are regularly on the schedule. The performing ensembles and soloists specialize in historically informed performance practice – meaning: original instruments or historical copies, creating a sound that is as close as possible to the time the music was composed. Anyone who usually only knows classical music from the radio will discover a new dimension here.
In addition to the major evening concerts, there are sometimes matinee events on weekends – a perfect way to start the day before exploring the Schlossanlage Schleißheim with its parterres, canals, and Lustheim Palace. The exact program for 2026 is usually published in early spring. For current dates and program details, we recommend checking the official website of the Bavarian Palace Administration.
