From July 23rd to 26th, 2026, Oberschleißheim will transform into the hub of international masters rowing: The Euro Masters Regatta 2026 brings over 2,200 athletes from more than 30 countries to the legendary Olympic Regatta Course Munich. With over 300 races in various boat classes, a thrilling competitive atmosphere, and the famous Masters Party on Saturday evening, this event promises an unforgettable experience—whether you are watching from the docks, the natural grandstands, or participating in the boat yourself. As a hotel located directly in Oberschleißheim, we would like to introduce you to this extraordinary rowing event and provide all the information you need as an athlete, team staff, or spectator.
The Euro Masters Regatta is one of the world's largest masters rowing events—and in 2026, it takes place right on our doorstep. The Olympic Regatta Course in Oberschleißheim is one of the best and most technically demanding rowing tracks in the world. It was already the site of historic competitions during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. If you plan to attend as an athlete or spectator, we recommend securing your accommodation for the Euro Masters Regatta early—Munich is very busy in mid-summer, and the close proximity to the course is simply invaluable for athletes with early start times.
The Euro Masters Regatta is the European championship for masters rowers—athletes aged 27 and older who enjoy competitive rowing and want to test themselves against like-minded individuals from across Europe and beyond. The event uniquely combines the serious sportsmanship of a high-performance competition with the warmth and camaraderie for which the masters rowing community is known. Hobby athletes row alongside former national team members, beginners alongside veterans of decades-long competition—and that is exactly what makes the atmosphere so special.
In 2026, the regatta will take place at one of the most beautiful and technically challenging venues anywhere: the Olympic Regatta Course Munich in Oberschleißheim. The 2,300-meter competition course with eight lanes is considered to offer near-ideal, wind-sheltered conditions for fair racing. Over 2,200 active athletes and several thousand spectators are expected over the entire weekend—a true spectacle for the entire region.
The Olympic Regatta Course Oberschleißheim is not just any sports facility. Built for the 1972 Olympic Games, it ranks among the most renowned rowing and canoeing venues worldwide. The facility offers a 2,300-meter regatta course with eight lanes, as well as a separate start facility and covered finish line equipment. The natural setting—nestled in the Schleißheim park landscape with historic castles in the immediate vicinity—makes the regatta a truly unique experience.
The course is particularly valued for its wind-sheltered conditions, which guarantee fair competition conditions for all lanes. For spectators, there is a spacious natural grandstand along the entire course—you can follow the race from start to finish without having to leave your seat. For families with children, the facility is ideal: plenty of green space, on-site catering, and a relaxed atmosphere away from the city noise.
