Flying in the Past

Aeroplane at Flugwerft Schleissheim

Moving through the air like an eagle, the dream of flying ... Almost 100 years ago, aviation in Munich began in the place where the German Museum for Aviation and Space Travel (Flugwerft Schleissheim) stands today, with one of the first airports in Germany.

The historic site and the huge newly built hangar cover approximately 8000 sqm of exhibition space. Special exhibitions, flight days and constant new campaigns make the museum an attractive and exciting destination for the whole family.

Via an attractive foot path through the park, past the Lustheim and Schleissheim palaces, the museum can be reached directly from the hotel.
